Once again Anderson’s Inlet at Inverloch provided very challenging conditions for South Gippsland Yacht Clubsailors in the Knights of Leongatha Toyota Series held on Sunday 16 November 2014.
With brisk winds of 14 to 14 knots or more in the morning, 10 yachts and their skippers braved the conditions.
As is the case with strong winds and a outgoing tide, there were a number of sailors who were not able to complete the course.
Results were as follows:
A Division: First Pete Kiely-Windrush Catamaran Second: Craig Stewart- Mosquito Catamaran Third: Wayne Smith- Windrush Catamaran
B Division: First Keith Cousens- Impulse Second: Matt Kiely- Impulse
C Division: Oscar Llewellyn-Sabre
During the afternoon, the wind conditions deteriorated with 18 to 21 knots being experienced. The afternoon race saw 5 yachts and their skippers put to the test. While the winds were minimal inshore, the sailors battled the full force of the WSW winds offshore.
Results were:
A Division: First Pete Kiely-Windrush

All sailors agreed it was a tough day with a number of sailors not completing races however with minimal damage and no personal injuries. Everyone was looking forward to sailing next weekend on Sunday 23 November 2014.
