I will get around to posting a summary of our regatta from last weekend soon, but I thought it would be good to share with you some of the articles and comments others have posted already. The Southern Wooden Boat Sailing website is a great weekly read edited by Mark Chew and I would highly recommend you subscribe (it’s free!). See here. Mark emailed me with “Thanks for everything… I’m going to sail next year!!!!!!”. Read his article with some fantastic photos here: Southern Wooden Boat Sailing: “Getting so much Right! Inverloch Classic Dinghies”
Our good friend and supporter Greg Barwick of the ‘Sailfish Clan’ asked me to say “Please pass on the thanks of the Sailfish mob to everyone involved at the club for another great regatta on Anderson Inlet. Ever since we first turned up in 2017 it has felt like we are being welcomed home each and every time.” Greg’s write up on the Sailfish website is here: ICWDR Sailfish Report 2024.
Shaun Ritson on behalf of Lysterfield Sailing Club wrote “I just wanted to thank you and everyone involved for another fabulous weekend. Please pass out thanks onto all of the volunteers and officials. All of the sailors from Lysterfield had an amazing time and are already planning for the next one.”
From the above and feedback over past years, we’re clearly doing something right. Organising a regatta is one thing, but I believe the thing that sets SGYC apart is our welcoming volunteers and friendly vibe. So thank you everyone who helped make the 2024 ICWDR a success and take a minute to reflect on what a great job you did!
Thanks, Simon
