SGYC had it’s official opening day Sunday 21st November and the weather gods were on our side with blue skies and a moderate afternoon breeze. A superb sit down lunch of chicken, a selection of salads and home baked cupcakes for dessert ensured the nearly 40 members were prepared for the afternoons activities.
20 plus sailors then took to the water for the traditional sail past new Commodore Simon, then set about completing two back to back races on a triangular course whilst the rest of us enjoyed the sunshine whilst watching from the shore.
Thanks to everybody involved in making it a great open day with special mention to Susan and Stacey in the kitchen, Derek, Neil and Russel in the rescue boat and John and Elizabeth in the tower.
