Sunday 31st October saw the start of the 2021-22 sailing season. Due to uncertainty surrounding Covid regulations, the official start to the season has been pushed back to November 21st, however we lucked out with a combination of weather and a significant easing of restrictions to make a perfect first day of sailing. Around 25 Members and guests enjoyed a balmy 21 degrees and light to moderate winds which, coupled with quick fire practice laps before lunch and 2 races in the afternoon, made for a perfect resumption of our favourite sport. Thanks to Neil, Derek, Folkert, Lyn and Matt for the sailing and Susan and helpers for feeding us all.
Going forward, the covid requirements for community sport such as sailing allow all members to enter the compound and participate regardless of vaccination status. We can also use the change rooms and showers and are not required to wear a mask outdoors. QR check in is required by all members and guests on each visit. Access to the clubrooms/ kitchen is restricted until further notice. So with this new regime, we look forward to seeing you all during the season.
