A very enjoyable evening was had by some 40 or so club members on Saturday at the 2020-21 season presentation night. BYO bbq was complemented by salads, breads and other savouries coordinated by Susan and finished off by a bevy of tasty homemade desserts that stumped even the most ravenous amongst us, all washed down by our favourite libation.
As in prior years, Neil and Rob worked their magic over the seasons race results and using only what can be described as sorcery, delivered the awards placings for Handicap Championship and the more understandable VYC Championship for each race series and for overall positions. Neil, Wayne and Simon performed the presentations with the evening wrapping up in Brownlow style with Wayne judging the contenders and eventual winner of the NASA award, this year won by Craig (his second time in just 4 years it turns out!) for such a bewildering assortment of faux pas, one wonders whether he planned this all along. Francis, basking in the warmth of Hervey Bay, made a last ditch effort in trying to secure an award by telephoning in with a message, but a 2nd place in C Division was his best result!
Special thanks from members were given to Susan and her helpers in the kitchen over the past months, John and Elizabeth for their dedication in the tower (we are looking forward to seeing your boat John!) and Derek for driving the rescue boat each week.
