After a refreshing break we’ll be starting up the sailing season on October the 30th with a lunch and then the first race beginning at 2.00pm in the afternoon.
In the interim the general news is that the working bees have been very productive, with repairs and maintenance to the womens change rooms.
Also much thanks needs to be given to Geoff Cole for the generous use of his time and skills repairing and upgrading the club Sabre for use this season. There will be plenty of takers this season using both it, the club minnow, and the club mirror as it looks to be a busy season of sailing!
Matt and Pete Kiely have been busy sailing over winter at the pondage with a lot of success so club members are already racing fit due to the sailing undertaken so far.
We will also be updating our race results and computerising the system so stay tuned!
And finally, SGYC had a few entrants in this years sauna sail with great results all round.
Pete Keily (windrush) 2nd place overall (Division 2)
Shaun Freeman (windrush) 3rd place overall (Division 2)
George Fairlea (laser) 10th place overall (Division 4)
Matt Keily, (impulse) 4th place after winning one of the two races he competed Division 7.
