Jessica Watson Talk: Australia Day Weekend 2015

Jessica Watson OAM will give a talk on her sailing adventures at The Inverloch Community Hub on Saturday evening 24 January 2015.

Jessica, Ambassador for the Regatta in 2015, will be introduced by Tom King OAM, who is patron for the Regatta. Tom learned to sail a Mirror in Inverloch and later, with Raf Heale, won the Mirror World Championships in Holland. At the Sydney Olympics sailing with Mark Turnbull he won an Olympic Gold Medal in the 470 Class.

Jessica Watson became the youngest person to sail around the world solo and unassisted when she sailed back into Sydney Harbor in 2010.  In 2011 she was honored with the award ‘Young Australian of the Year’ and later that year skippered the youngest crew ever to take on the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.  In 2012 Jessica was awarded the Order of Australia Medal.
Jessica has addressed a wide range of audiences including the United Nations and at The Hub she will give a public talk, accompanied by film footage, on her sailing adventures.
She encourages young people pursue their dreams and to take on the challenges of life.

Tickets will be available at The Inverloch Community Hub from 6.00 pm at:
Adults $20.00
School age youth $10.00
Family. 2 adults + 2 children $50.00
The talk will commence at 7.00 pm.
