The weather was kind for the marathon with a light southwesterly breeze sending people down past Mahers Landing before picking up and allowing the first sailors sail to sail against the tide to arrive back at the clubhouse a little after 1 pm.
There was a good fleet with 21 sailors and 7 Sailboards (windsurfers) making the trip down and back.
As well the local surflifesaving club provided assistance with two rubber duckies on the water allowing for a comprehensive coverage in case of emergency.
It was a great day and the turnout was terrific. Well done to all involved.
The winner was Toby Leppin with Matt Kiely coming in second and Rob McNair a close third.
